HIGHLAND HEIGHTS,
Ky. - The Northern Kentucky University women’s basketball
team has added a home game with Loyola (Ill.) on Dec. 22 at 5:30
p.m.
Loyola, located
in Chicago, Ill., is an NCAA Division I program and a member of
the Horizon League. The Ramblers posted a 7-21 record last season.
It will mark
the first time that a Division I opponent has played in Regents
Hall since Dec. 8, 1993, when the NKU women defeated Morehead State,
79-60. The Eagles also visited Highland Heights in both 1990 and
1992 and split those two contests with the Norse.
The NKU women
played host to Louisville during the 1989-90 season and defeated
the Cardinals, 71-60, in Regents Hall. The previous season, NKU
handed Xavier a 64-43 loss in Regents Hall.
NKU finished
last season with a 16-12 overall record, and the Norse were 13-7
in the Great Lakes Valley Conference. NKU posted an 11-4 record
in Regents Hall last season.
NKU welcomes
back three starters and adds an impressive group of newcomers for
the 2005-06 season. Junior post player Karmen Graham (11.2 points
per game) is the top returnee for the Norse.
The Norse begin
the 2005-06 campaign Nov. 16 with a 7 p.m. home game with Wilberforce
(Ohio).
