NKU vs. Shaw (Dec. 20, 2004)

Head Coach Nancy Winstel

On the game...
“I thought they turned up their defensive pressure in the second half and I didn't think we took very good care of the ball. And I thought they made some really good shots.”

“The first half we were up 10 and we could have been up more than that. We missed some shots which we would have liked to have made and we turned the ball over. Good team. Good pressure team.”

“I think we're playing better, but it's still not good enough. We need to play better. We just need to keep trying to get better.”

“I'm focused on Fort Valley State right now. This game is over with; we've got a game in less than 24 hours.”

On the play of Connie Myers...
“I thought Connie just played her butt off, and the thing about it is we have just got to have some help for her. She needs some help. We need another post player to help her. We need a perimeter player to step up and help her. We have got to get some offense from our perimeter from somebody.”

On her team's 26 turnovers...
“We've worked six-on-five, seven-on-five. We've had guys come in and practice with us. We've worked on it. We work on it and work on it. I think it's poise; and I think it's youth. I think it's all kinds of things.”

On the effort of NKU…
“I feel like we are getting better. Even though the score didn’t show us on top, we have improved. As long as we keep doing that we will be ok.”

On the NKU run to close the gap…
“We had our energy for a while, but they came back and things started swinging their way. I guess that is way the game goes.”

On her career-high 28 points…
“That’s my job, I guess. The guards were feeding me the passes. Liz (Burrows) was giving me awesome passes and without them being on the perimeter I can’t do my job.”
