ST. LOUIS, Mo. – The Northern Kentucky University tennis teams placed three players on the All-Great Lakes Valley Conference teams, the league announced Thursday night.  Ignacio Ortiz was honored on the men’s team, while Stephanie Isaacs and Kristen Sunday earned spots on the women’s team.

Ortiz, a sophomore from Medellin, Colombia, posted a 5-3 conference record as the No. 1 singles player for the Norse and has won his last four decisions.  Overall, Ortiz was 9-7 on the season in singles play while posting a 10-6 record along side doubles partner Fritz Dlabik.

Isaacs, a junior from Waynesville, Ohio, earns her third career All-GLVC honor on the back of a 6-3 GLVC singles record in conference as the No. 2 player on the team.  Isaacs and Jill Sturgeon combined for a 7-3 league mark as the top pair in doubles competition.  Isaacs was named the GLVC Freshman of the Year in 2007.

Sunday, a sophomore from Reynoldsburg, Ohio, made her name on the doubles court, where she and Michelle Schirmann combined to post an 8-2 record in conference play to go with a 16-7 overall mark in the No. 2 doubles flight.  On the singles court, Sunday was 4-4 in the GLVC as the Norse pushed to a 9-1 conference record and a No. 2 seed in this weekend’s GLVC Tournament.

The NKU tennis teams will open up GLVC Tournament play on Friday as both the men and women face off against Southern Indiana.  The men start at 9:30 a.m. Eastern, while the women’s match is scheduled for a noon Eastern start.
