HIGHLAND HEIGHTS,
Ky. – The Northern Kentucky University men’s tennis
team has the beginnings of a streak on its hands after taking
a solid victory over Bellarmine, 6-3, to open Great Lakes Valley
Conference play.
Michael Volkov
saw himself on the winning end of a pair of long matches, taking
his No. 4 singles match against
Todd Atcher to
a 6-2 third set victory after pairing with Jon Raley to defeat
Paul Clark and Tyler Worley, 9-7.
Fritz Dlabik,
Felipe Rossetti and Jason Kramer each took singles victories,
while Dlabik and
Rossetti combined to take a doubles
win as well.
Northern Kentucky
(3-5, 1-0 GLVC) travels to face cross-town foe Xavier on Tuesday
before returning to GLVC
play at Southern
Illinois-Edwardsville on Saturday.
