TIFFIN, Ohio - Tony Capurro snapped a second-half tie with a goal to give Northern Kentucky University a 2-1 victory over Tiffin on Sunday afternoon.

Capurro scored his first goal of the season in the 60th minute off a crossing pass from fellow captain Dan Impellizzeri to give the No. 5 Norse the win and keep their record perfect at 4-0.

Tiffin's Tony Iyayi got the scoring started, netting the game's first goal off a pass from Vincent Vasilevski in the 12th minute. Tiffin’s defense stood strong through the first 45 minutes as NKU trailed 1-0 at the half.

It marked just the second time in NKU's last 26 matches the Norse were forced to play catch-up in the second half.

Chad Cook drew the Norse even in the 51st minute, scoring his first goal on an unassisted tally.

Capurro's tally nine minutes later insured the victory for goalkeeper Michael Lavric, who replaced senior Andy Ortman at the half. Lavric, the 2006 Ohio High School Player of the Year and NSCAA All-American, made two saves in the second half to take the win in his first collegiate contest.

NKU returns home next weekend to open Great Lakes Valley Conference play against a pair of nationally ranked teams. The Norse will take on No. 25 Lewis on Friday night at 7:30 before hosting No. 22 Wisconsin-Parkside on Sunday at 2:30 p.m.
