OWENSBORO, Ky. - Northern Kentucky University wrapped up the No. 2 seed in the Great Lakes Valley Conference Tournament with a 2-0 victory over Kentucky Wesleyan on Sunday afternoon.

Mirza Causevic netted a pair of second-half goals to lead NKU, which improved to 12-2-2 overall, 9-2-2 in the GLVC. Causevic's first goal came at the 56:29 mark, and he sealed the Norse victory four minutes later with his second tally of the day.

NKU goalie Andy Ortman picked up his ninth shutout of the season and had four saves. The Norse, ranked 16th nationally in the NCAA Division II poll, extended their unbeaten streak to nine and are 8-0-1 during that stretch.

NKU earned the No. 2 seed in the GLVC Tournament, which begins Oct. 22. The Norse will play host to No. 7 seed Indianapolis at the Town & Country Sports Complex in the first round next Sunday.

The semifinals and championship will be played Oct. 27-29 at the site of the highest remaining seed in the eight-team field. Southern Illinois at Edwardsville is the No. 1 seed for the GLVC Tournament.

NKU will close out the regular season Wednesday with a 4 p.m. home game against Findlay. The Norse need four wins to tie the school record for most wins (16) in a season, which was set by the 1995 team.

A year ago, NKU advanced to the GLVC Tournament semifinals.
