HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. -
Northern Kentucky University has been selected as the host for an
NCAA Division II men’s soccer national quarterfinal game,
and the Norse will play host to Lincoln Memorial at 1 p.m. Sunday
at the Town & Country Sports Complex in Wilder, Ky.
The 14th-ranked
Norse (16-2-3) will take on Appalachian Region champion Lincoln
Memorial (14-1-3). The winner of that contest will advance to the
NCAA Division II Final Four, which will be held Nov. 16-18 at Pensacola,
Fla. Lincoln Memorial is ranked 16th nationally in the Division
poll.
Ticket prices will be $8 for general admission, and $5 for senior
citizens and students.
NKU won the
NCAA Division II Great Lakes Region men's soccer championship Saturday
night with a 3-2 overtime victory over two-time defending champion
Southern Illinois-Edwardsville.
NKU tied a school
record with its 16th win of the season. SIUE, ranked No. 6 nationally
in the Division II poll, finished with a 15-4-3 record.
