INDIANAPOLIS
- The Northern Kentucky University men’s soccer team dropped
a 2-1 decision to Indianapolis on Sunday afternoon at Key Stadium.

Shannon each scored first-half goals as Indianapolis improved to
9-6-2 overall, 5-6-2 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference. Matt
Spaulding played all 90 minutes in goal for the Greyhounds and had
six saves.
Andy Bacon netted a
goal in the second half for NKU, which fell to 10-7-2 overall, 6-5-2
in the GLVC. The loss also dropped the Norse to the No. 6 seed in
the upcoming GLVC Tournament.
The top four teams will
host first-round GLVC Tournament games on Oct. 30. Southern Illinois
at Edwardsville won the regular-season GLVC title and is the top
seed. No. 2 seed Rockhurst, No. 3 seed Wisconsin-Parkside and No.
4 seed Quincy will also host first-round games.
NKU will travel to Kenosha,
Wis., to meet Wisconsin-Parkside in the first round next Sunday.
The winner will advance to the GLVC semifinals Nov. 4.
Wisconsin-Parkside (13-3-1
overall) finished 9-3-1 in the GLVC, but the Rangers ended the regular
season Sunday with a stunning 1-0 loss at Kentucky Wesleyan. It
marked the first conference win in nearly five years for Kentucky
Wesleyan.
During the regular season,
Wisconsin-Parkside posted a 4-0 win over NKU at Wilder, Ky.
