NKU’s Tony Capurro

HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. - Northern Kentucky University men’s soccer players Tony Capurro and David Lies have been named All-Great Lakes Valley Conference by the league coaches.

Capurro, a sophomore midfielder and a graduate of Moeller High School in Cincinnati, was named to the All-GLVC second team. Capurro scored five goals and added four assists this fall. He led NKU with 14 total points.

Lies, a senior defender and a graduate of Colerain High School, earned honorable mention All-GLVC accolades. Lies scored a team-leading six goals for the Norse this season.

He also tallied five game-winning goals as NKU posted an 11-8-2 record and advanced to the GLVC Tournament semifinals.

Kevin Thibodeau of Southern Illinois at Edwardsville was named the GLVC Player of the Year. Rockhurst’s Haggai Leboo earned GLVC Freshman of the Year honors.
