Ky. - Northern Kentucky University’s DeAaron Williams has
earned preseason All-America mention from Street & Smith’s
6-foot-5 senior forward, was named honorable mention NCAA Division
II All-American by the publication. The Peoria, Ill., native averaged
8.3 points per game last season and blocked a team-leading 23 shots
as NKU posted a 21-8 record.
During the NCAA
Division II Great Lakes Regional at Allendale, Mich., Williams poured
in 26 points as NKU nearly knocked off top-seeded Grand Valley State.
Great Lakes Valley Conference players - Southern Indiana’s
Anthony Pimble, Kentucky Wesleyan’s T.J. Smith and Lewis’
Jason Genova - joined Williams as preseason All-America selections.
NKU is ranked
No. 4 nationally in the Division II Bulletin preseason poll. The
Norse begin exhibition play Nov. 8 when Louisville visits The Bank
of Kentucky Center for an 8 p.m. contest.
