KANSAS CITY,
Mo. - Dustin Maguire scored 18 points and grabbed 10 rebounds to
lead Northern Kentucky University to an 85-73 win at Rockhurst on
Thursday night.
DeAaron Williams
added 17 points as NKU improved to 11-4 overall, 4-2 in the Great
Lakes Valley Conference. Jon Van Hoose came off the bench and finished
with a career-high 15 points – all on 3-point shots - for
the 18th-ranked Norse.
NKU was 11-for-27
from 3-point range and won the rebounding battle by a 40-26 margin.
The Norse shot 53.3 percent from the field and improved to 5-0 all-time
against Rockhurst (9-6, 5-2 GLVC).
A’Daeron
Duncan scored 12 points and grabbed seven rebounds for NKU, while
teammate Scott Bibbins dished out a team-leading six assists. The
Norse held Rockhurst’s
Aaron Hill to just 12 points on 4-for-11 shooting from the field.
Hill entered
the game averaging 20.6 points per contest. NKU also forced Hill
into 1-for-8 shooting from 3-point range.
NKU concludes
the two-game road trip Saturday by visiting Drury. That game will
begin at 2 p.m., and the NKU/Drury women’s contest will follow
at 4:15 p.m.
