---Harrison Morton soars in for a first-half dunk during NKU’s 66-51 win over UC-Clermont. Morton scored a game-high 23 points as the Norse improved to 5-1.

HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. - The Northern Kentucky University men’s basketball team will play host to Asbury (Ky.) Saturday morning at 11:30 a.m. in Regents Hall. The Norse are off to a 5-1 start and have won four consecutive games.

MORTON ON TARGET: Harrison Morton leads NKU in scoring at 14.0 points per game. The 6-foot-4 senior forward is shooting 56.3 percent from the field and is averaging 20.3 ppg the past three games.

Morton scored 23 points as NKU cruised to a 66-51 win over UC-Clermont last Saturday in Regents Hall. The Lexington, Ky., native poured in 18 points in the first half and finished 8-for-15 from the field.

NKU finished 3-for-22 from long range. The Norse were 1-for-11 in the second half from 3-point land.

CLUXTON-LIKE: Sophomore guard Scott Bibbins, a Holy Cross High School graduate, is perfect (13-for-13) at the free-throw line this season. Former NKU standout Paul Cluxton set an NCAA record during the 1996-97 season by making every free throw he attempted (94-for-94).

ACCURATE PASSES: Junior guard David McFarland leads the Great Lakes Valley Conference in assist-to-turnover ratio at 6.75. McFarland, a Boone County High School graduate, has 27 assists and only four turnovers this season.

TREY-RIFFIC: NKU leads the GLVC in 3-point shooting at 42.4 percent. The Norse are 56-for-132 from long range.

ABOUT ASBURY: Asbury, an NAIA program from Wilmore, Ky., owns a 9-3 record. The Eagles posted a 57-56 win over Spalding last Saturday. Michael Spann and Brett Johnson each scored 16 points to lead Asbury in that win, while Brandon Fentress added 15 points. NKU and Asbury have never met in men’s basketball.

INDIANA-EAST NEXT: NKU will play host to Indiana-East at 7 p.m. on Dec. 19. The Norse will continue their homestand Dec. 28 when Massachusetts-Lowell visits Regents Hall for a 7 p.m. contest.
