HIGHLAND HEIGHTS,
Ky. - Northern Kentucky University begins a busy week of basketball
in Regents Hall at 7 p.m. Tuesday night, when Kentucky Christian
visits for a non-conference game.
NKU will also
play host to Great Lakes Valley Conference rivals Missouri-Rolla
(7:45 p.m. Thursday) and Missouri-St. Louis (3:15 p.m. Saturday)
later in the week. NKU is 8-4 overall, 2-3 in the GLVC.

3-FOR-ALL:
NKU leads the GLVC in 3-point shooting at 41.4 percent. The Norse
are 113-for-273 from 3-point range this season. NKU also leads the
GLVC in 3-pointers made per game, averaging 9.42 treys per contest.
Norse junior guard Mark Hawkins is No. 1 in the GLVC in 3-point
shooting at 53.1 percent (17-for-32).
THE
LONG RANGER: NKU senior forward Anthony Teague has been
sizzling from long range the past three games. Teague has connected
on 11 3-pointers in just 18 attempts the past three games.
Teague averages
7.9 points per game and leads NKU in 3-pointers made with 21. During
his past three games, Teague is averaging 16.3 ppg.
KIMMEY
ON TARGET: NKU sophomore guard Mike Kimmey made a pair
of 3-point shots during the first half of Saturday’s game
at Lewis. They were the first two field goals of the season for
Kimmey, who has appeared in four games.
SCHAPPELL
SAVES DAY: NKU senior guard Kevin Schappell poured in 23
points to lead the Norse past Lewis, 72-66. Schappell was 8-for-10
from the field in that game. He averages 10.8 ppg this season.
ABOUT
KENTUCKY CHRISTIAN: The Knights, members of the National
Christian College Athletic Association, are 6-10 overall. Kentucky
Christian averages 86 points per game but is surrendering 94 points
on average. Six opponents have scored at least 100 points on Kentucky
Christian this season.
Akeem Scott
leads the Knights in scoring at 19 ppg and 8.0 rebounds per contest.
Scott poured in 38 points in a game against Berea earlier this season
and recently scored his 1,000th career point.
MISSOURI-ROLLA
NEXT: NKU jumps back into GLVC play Thursday night against
Missouri-Rolla. A year ago, NKU posted a 71-43 win over the Miners
in Rolla, Mo. Vincent Humphrey scored 19 points to lead NKU to that
win.
FLYING
DOGS IN REGENTS HALL: Bill Camp and America's Best Frisbee
Dogs will be performing at halftime of the NKU men’s game
against Missouri-Rolla on Thursday. These canines have provided
great entertainment for the NBA, NFL, minor league and college teams.
