ALLENDALE, Mich. - Grand Valley State allowed just seven points in the final 11:25 of the game Tuesday night en route to a 60-47 win over Northern Kentucky University.

Dan Redder scored 10 points to lead Grand Valley State, which improved to 8-2. Jason Jamerson added eight points and eight rebounds as the Lakers also avenged a 73-63 loss on Nov. 23 to the Norse and defeated NKU for the first time in three meetings.

After Harrison Morton’s basket brought NKU within two points (42-40) with 11:25 remaining in the game, Grand Valley State used a 10-0 run to take a 52-40 lead. Jeff Grauzer sparked the run with a pair of tip-in baskets for the Lakers.

Vincent Humphrey led NKU (6-2) with 14 points, and Gavin Ludgood added 10 points. Ludgood, a 6-foot-8 senior center, also had five rebounds and three blocked shots.

Billy Finnell finished with seven points and seven assists for the Norse. Mark Hawkins and Morton each added six points for the Norse.

NKU will play host to Thomas More at 7 p.m. Friday in Regents Hall. NKU has beaten Thomas More 19 consecutive times and holds a 28-5 lead in the all-time series with the Saints.

NKU has not lost to Thomas More since the 1980-81 season, when the Saints defeated the Norse by a 61-52 score in Regents Hall.

After the Christmas break, NKU will travel to Florida for games against Nova Southeastern (Dec. 29) and NCAA Division II powerhouse Lynn (Dec. 30).
