HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. - Northern Kentucky University pitcher Josh Bruns has been named to the Rawlings/American Baseball Coaches Association NCAA Division II preseason All-America Team. Bruns, a senior pitcher, posted an 8-2 record with a 2.86 earned run average last season. The 6-foot-2 left-hander struck out 64 batters and walked just 11 in 78 2/3 innings on the mound as NKU captured the Great Lakes Valley Conference championship and advanced to the NCAA Division II Tournament. A native of Versailles, Ohio, Bruns limited opposing hitters to a .236 batting average last year. The Norse finished with a 42-20-1 overall record. NKU has won GLVC titles in three of the past five seasons. |
