HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. - Northern Kentucky University’s Conor McGeehan has been named the Great Lakes Valley Conference Player of the Week, the league announced Monday.

McGeehan, a junior catcher from Lebanon, Ohio, batted .521 with seven runs batted in last week to help NKU win five of six contests on the road, including a four-game sweep at Missouri-St. Louis. McGeehan hit a three-run homer in the eighth inning of the final game against the Rivermen to snap a 3-3 tie and lead the Norse to a 7-3 win.

In the first game against Bellarmine on Thursday, McGeehan went 2-for-2 with a double and an RBI. For the week, McGeehan was 12-for-23 with a home run, two doubles and five runs scored.

McGeehan leads NKU with five home runs this spring, and he also has collected 10 doubles. For the season, he is batting .299.

NKU, now 21-16 overall and 13-7 in the GLVC, will play a road contest at the University of Kentucky at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday.
