MADISON, Ill. - Four
Northern Kentucky University players finished in the top ten
as the women's golf team took second place at the
Triton & Bear Invitational at Gateway National Golf Course.
Rasmussen shared third place after carding a nine-over-par 151
(77-74) in the 36-hole tournament. Alicia Stauffacher (75-77—152)
was one stroke behind her teammate to take sixth. Charity Evans
(77-77—154) was 12-over-par to finish ninth, while Lyndsey
Bevill (79-77—156) shared 10th place at 14-over-par. Hannah
Lindauer (80-88—168) finished 29th to round out NKU's participation.
Indiana's Tara Wiley took the medal at 7-over-par (73-76—149).
The Norse (308-305—613) finished just four strokes behind
tournament winner Southern Indiana (295-314—609) in the team
event. NKU's next closest competition was Lewis (316-326—642),
which finished 29 strokes behind the Norse.
NKU has closed out its
fall season and will continue competition in March. The GLVC
Championship is scheduled for April 25-26, 2009,
at Kokopelli Golf Course in Marion, Ill.
