EVANSVILLE, Ind. - The Northern Kentucky University women's golf team took a fifth-place finish at the Ray Wright/Screaming Eagle Classic at Cambridge Golf Course.

The Norse shot a 60-over-par 636 (315-321) in the 36-hole event, 32 strokes behind the team champion Indianapolis, which finished with a tournament record 28-over-par 604 (304-300). The Greyhounds' second round 300 also set a tournament record.

Drury (317-305-622), Western Kentucky (316-314-630), and host Southern Indiana (311-323-634) rounded out the top finishers in the team event.

Individually, Western Kentucky's Emily Wolff shot an even-par 144 (75-69) to take the medal in record fashion. The Norse were paced by three players sharing 11th place. Sofie Rasmussen (79-78-157), Lyndsey Bevill (82-75-157) and Charity Evans (75-82-157) each carded 12-over-par in the two-day tournament. Alicia Stauffacher (79-86-165) added her first-round score to the team total and finished 27th overall.

Other NKU golfers competing included Hannah Lindauer (84-87-171, 47th) and Nicole Hess (88-88-176, 57th).

Northern Kentucky heads to Belleville, Ill., to compete in the Midwest Shootout on Sept. 28-29 at The Orchards Golf Course.
