ALLENDALE, Mich. – The Northern Kentucky University women’s golf team closed out a four-day stretch of action by finishing eighth in the Laker Fall Classic, hosted by Grand Valley State University.

The Norse shot 70-over-par to card a 646 (319-327) in the 36-hole event, won by California (Pa.), who finished 30-over par (310-296—606) on the tournament. Individually, California’s Simone DeSouza took the medal, carding an even-par 144 (73-71).

Charity Evans led the Norse, sharing 14th place at 12-over-par (73-83—156) followed by Sofie Rasmussen at 27th (78-83—161). Alicia Stauffacher shot a 164 (84-80) to take 34th, while Lyndsey Bevil’s 165 (84-81—165) placed her 35th to round out the team scoring.

Hannah Lindauer (84-88—172) and Nicole Hess (91-101—192) also competed for the Norse.

Northern Kentucky will get some much-deserved rest before heading out to Evansville, Ind., to take part in the Screaming Eagle Invitational on Sept. 21.
