ROMEOVILLE, Ill. – Alicia Stauffacher took a three-stroke victory individually and led the Northern Kentucky University women’s golf team to a third place finish at the Lewis Aviator Classic, played at Prairie Bluff Golf Course.
Stauffacher carded a seven-over-par 151 (75-76) to take the medal in the event, besting Drury’s Katrina Choate by three strokes (79-75—154) to claim the first win of her career at NKU.
Three other NKU players claimed top-20 finishes, including Sofie Rasmussen (85-81—166) in 15th position and Charity Evans (84-83—167) and Hannah Lindauer (82-25—167) sharing 17th place.
Lyndsey Bevill (84-84—168) finished 22nd in the field of 65, adding both of her round scores to the team total.
As a team, NKU (325-324—649) ended the two-day event 20 strokes behind team champion Drury (315-314—629) and just four strokes short of second-place finisher Southern Indiana (311-334—645).
NKU has wrapped up its regular season competition and moves on to the Great Lakes Valley Conference Championships, to be played April 25-26 at Kokopelli Golf Course in Marion, Ill.
