GOODYEAR, Ariz. – Alicia Stauffacher claimed a top-10 finish as the Northern Kentucky University women’s golf team landed in 13th place at the Grand Canyon University Invitational at Palm Valley Golf Course. Stauffacher (78-76—154) shot 10-over-par to lead NKU on the western trip, followed by Sofie Rasmussen (86-76—162) in 45th, Lyndsey Bevill (86-79—165) in 60th and Charity Evans (84-83—167) in 65th to give the Norse their 648 (334-314) team score. Brittany Carrera of Sonoma (Calif.) State won the medal with a three-over-par (73-74—147) performance. CSU-Monterey Bay (300-308—608) shot 32-over-par to take the team event, placing three players in the top 10 individually. NKU will travel to Romeoville, Ill., in two weeks for the Lewis Aviator Classic as a final tune-up before the Great Lakes Valley Conference Championships. |
