COLUMBUS,
Ind. -- The Northern Kentucky University men‚s golf team
carded a 46-over-par three-day total of 910 (311-298-301) to
take fourth place at the Great Lakes Valley Conference Men‚s
Golf Championship completed Tuesday at Otter Creek Golf Course
in Columbus, Ind.
The University
of Indianapolis cruised to the team title with a 17-over total
of 881, besting second-place
Drury (904) by 23 strokes
and third-place Bellarmine (908) by 27.
Indianapolis‚s
Justin Hueber beat teammate Blair Webb and NKU senior Carl Hays
in a
one-hole playoff to take the tournament
medal. The three finished regulation with matching 4-over-par
220s.
Hays (74-74-72)
earned All-GLVC honors for his top-five performance.
NKU's
Eric Fulder (82-71-71) rebounded from a rough first round to
tie for seventh place with a total of 224. Jim Akerstrom
(78-79-78--235) tied for 34th, Danny Lewis (82-76-80--238)
and Tyler Adkins (77-77-84--238) tied for 45th for
the Norse.
Next up for
the Norse is the Wayne State Regional Invitational
Sunday and Monday at Purgatory in Noblesville, Ind.
