By Mike Anderson, NKU Sports Information GEORGETOWN, Ky. -- The Northern Kentucky University men's golf team shared third place at the Great Lakes Regional Spring Invitational, played at Cherry Blossom Golf Course. The Norse shot a 4-over-par 580 (284-296) to tie with Grand Valley State (292-288--580) in the 36-hole event, and finish three strokes behind team champion Indianapolis (285-292--577). Ferris State (285-293--578) took second place, shooting 2-over-par as a team. Individually, Joe Juszcyzk (69-69--138) of Wayne State and Jason Dunlop (71-67--138) of Northwood shared the medal at 6-under-par for the weekend. NKU's Danny Lewis (72-67--139) finished third with a 5-under-par performance. Carl Hays (72-69--141) shared fourth place at 3-under-par, Tyler Adkins (70-78--148) was 4-over-par to share 33rd place, and Jim Akerstrom (70-82--152) rounded out NKU's team scoring in 61st. The event served as the final tune up before the GLVC Championships, to be held April 13-15 at Otter Creek Golf Course in Columbus, Ind. |
