GOLF FINISHES SECOND AT LEWIS

LOCKPORT, Ill. - The
Northern Kentucky University women’s golf team wrapped up its regular
season this weekend with a second-place finish at the Lewis Aviator Classic
at Prairie Bluff Golf Course.
NKU's Alicia Lawrence
shot a +9 (76-77 - 153) to finish third overall. Sofie Rasmussen’s
+14 (77-18 - 158) was good for a share of eighth place. Bianca Hutton
finished in 15th place with a +22 (80-86 - 166), Lyndsey Bevill’s
+24 (84-84 -168) was good for 19th, while Nicole Hess shot a +29 (89-84
- 173) to finish 26th.
Drury’s Tonya
Choate took the medal with a -3 (69-72 - 141), finishing nine strokes
ahead of teammate and second place finisher Lisa Dugan (75-77 - 152).
As a team, the Norse
shot a +67 (317-326—643) as the runner-up. Drury took the team crown
with a dominating +24 (297-303—600). Indianapolis, Southern Indiana,
Lewis, Missouri-St. Louis, Kentucky Wesleyan and Saint Joseph’s
rounded out the all-GLVC field.
The Norse, currently
ranked No. 7 in the NCAA II East Region Poll, will await the announcement
of the NCAA regional field, to be made Monday at 5 p.m. Selection information
will be available at ncaasports.com. The East regional will be held at
Katke Golf Course in Big Rapids, Mich., April 30-May 2.
