NKU IN FIRST PLACE AFTER ONE ROUND - Oct. 10, 2005
Shearer, Ehlen tied for second place individually after shooting 70 on Monday
 

O’FALLON, Mo. - David Shearer and Jon Ehlen both shot 2-under-par 70 Monday as the Northern Kentucky University men’s golf team finished the opening round of the Riverman Invitational in first place with a total of 291.

Shearer and Ehlen are tied for second place in the individual competition at the par-72 WingHaven Country Club. Dan Frost of Lincoln (Mo.) was the individual leader after completing the opening round with a 3-under-par 69.

Mark Krahe finished with a 74 for the Norse, who hold a nine-stroke lead over Bellarmine (300) going into Tuesday’s final round. Clint Kohls of NKU shot 77, while teammate Jerod Cahill finished the first round at 79.
