The NKU golfers
will seek the East Region title |
INDIANAPOLIS - The teams
and individuals for the NCAA Division II Tournament for women’s
golf were selected Monday, and Northern Kentucky University earned
a berth in the East Regional at Findlay, Ohio.
The East Regional competition
will be conducted May 1-2 at the Findlay Country Club. Each regional
around the nation will consist of both team and individual competition
conducted concurrently, with six teams and three individuals from
non-qualifying teams at each site.
All participants will
compete throughout the 54 holes of competition. The top two teams
along with the top two individuals not with a team from each regional,
will advance to the national championships.
The NCAA Division II
national championships will be held May 10-13, at The Meadows in
Allendale, Mich., and will be hosted by Grand Valley State.
The championships will
consist of both team and individual competition conducted concurrently.
All participants will compete throughout the entire 72 holes of
competition. In the team competition, the low four scores for each
team will count in each day’s total score.

In last year’s championship, Rollins (Fla.) scored a record-setting
total of 1,185 (+17) to win its third straight NCAA Division II
championship. Grand Valley’s Melissa Sneller shot an even-par
tournament total of 292 to break another Division II record and
win the individual title.
