Centers
The College of Arts and Sciences houses three innovative and nationally recognized Centers which make unique and exemplary contributions to teaching, research, and civic engagement.
- In 1999, Kentucky’s Council on Postsecondary Education established The Center for Integrative Natural Sciences and Mathematics as a Program of Distinction at NKU. CINSAM seeks to enhance interdisciplinary teaching, learning, and applying of science and mathematics at NKU and in northern Kentucky schools.
- Founded in 1999, The Institute for Freedom Studies promotes interdisciplinary teaching, research, and civic engagement, grounded in the scholarly study of American cultural history with a specific focus on the legacy of the enslavement experience and the Underground Railroad.
- The Center for Applied Ecology focuses on environmental education, research, consultation, and civic engagement for the northern Kentucky and greater Cincinnati region.
