Community Connections

Several departments in the College of Arts & Sciences provide educational programs and entertainment that we are happy to share with the surrounding community.

The college also sponsors centers that provide public service or advance education in local schools.  

Students take an active role in our productions, programs and centers. It's an opportunity for them to get real-life experience outside the classroom. 

Here's a sampling of what our college affiliates offer to the community:

• Anthropology Museum featuring cultural exhibits from our area as well as other parts of the world. 
  
  
• History Day celebrates the American experience with lectures and exhibits.
  
  
• Military History Lecture Series engages speakers from multiple disciplines to explore the distinctive features of war in our society. 

• Center for Integrative Natural Sciences and Mathematics advances the teaching of science and mathematics in local schools.
  
  
• Music concerts offering a broad range of instrumental and voice performances.
  
  
• Haile Digital Planetarium schedules astronomy programs for student groups and the general public.  
  
  
• Theatre productions ranging from dramatic classics to contemporary comedy, drama and musicals.
  
  
• Art galleries exhibiting artwork in a broad range of media created by students and other artists.   
   
• Latino and Multicultural Center for Community Development provides education and outreach services for Latino and other multicultural residents.
