Themes
Third-party FrontPage themes are available. Most range in price from free
to $10 to $45. One problem with FrontPage themes is that you can't easily
apply one to a site that did not use a theme when it was originally built.
If you want to apply a FrontPage theme to an existing site without a theme,
you must first create an entirely new site based on a theme and then import
or copy and paste your existing content into it. An exception to this
is the Super Themes Browser.

- The Free FrontPage Themes Guide
- PixelMill is a clearinghouse with over 20 developers and a combined catalog of more than 1,000 themes and templates.
- Themesets.net specializes in artistic, graphics-intensive themes.
- The Template Store offers around 50 templates, some with themes.
- FrontPage World offers large-scale templates for sale.
- A+ Templates sells a low-cost membership that lets you download any of the site's 100-plus templates, some have Flash animations.
- Super Themes Browser is an add-in for FrontPage that lets you apply themes to an existing site. The Super Themes Browser works only with themes created or modified to be compatible with it.
Check
your work in different browsers
Since HTML verification software does not detect many compatibility problems
among browsers, you should test your pages on as many platforms as possible
including both Macintosh and Windows.
All Netscape versions can be installed on the same computer. All versions since 2.0 are available for download at Netscape's archive.
Unfortunately, different Internet Explorer versions cannot be loaded on the same computer.
Opera 6.01 is an efficient browser that claims to load most pages faster. It is a free download with banners ads, but it costs $39 to get a clean copy.
Lynx is the most widely-used text-mode browser on the Internet. See how your pages measure up without any graphics! Are your alt tags in place?! You can also check out the Lynx Viewer where you can check one page at a time.
- World Wide Web Consortium HTML validation service
- Doctor HTML "This widely-acclaimed program will scan your web pages for HTML errors, check for spelling mistakes, verify your hyperlinks, and provide other information useful for fine-tuning your Web page's performance." It also checks for errors in your tables, forms, and image use. It provides really useful and easy-to-read reports. Free as well as fee services available.
