Counselor Education Faculty Position

Adjunct Faculty Positions


STOREFRONT CLINIC DIRECTOR/ASSISTANT PROFESSOR: Northern Kentucky University is seeking a candidate who possesses a doctorate with an emphasis in counseling and is eligible for licensure in Kentucky. Has demonstrated record of scholarly activity, preferred experience teaching in a university counselor education program, and the demonstration of a strong commitment to community partnerships and outreach in a variety of settings, especially experience working with diverse populations and communities.  The successful candidate will possess a strong counselor professional identity and affiliation with professional organizations.  For more information about the clinic, click here.

Responsibilities include:  Providing leadership in the implementation of a new counseling and social work clinic (Storefront Clinic); teaching graduate courses in counseling, pursuing scholarly activity; university service and community outreach. Adjunct Faculty:

From time to time, the Department of Counseling, Human Services, and Social Work hires adjunct faculty to teach undergraduate and graduate courses.  The department would like to maintain a list of highly qualified professionals who would be available to teach courses on a part-time basis.  Adjunct faculty members are expected to have the following qualifications: a doctoral degree in a relevant discipline; experience teaching at the undergraduate or graduate level; and relevant professional experience in the counseling, human services, and social work fields.  Individuals who wish to be considered for adjunct employment should contact Dr. Michael Altekruse, Chair of the Department, at 859-572-1551 or altekrusem1@nku.edu.
