Congratulations! You have begun your college search during the most exciting time in Northern Kentucky University’s history.
As an NKU student, you’ll enjoy all of the amenities of a brand new $34 million student union, including: a food court (serving sushi, sandwiches, soups, wood-fired pizzas, burgers, salads and sweets, as well as Starbucks coffee); an NKU game room and entertainment area that features a video wall with wireless Xbox and PlayStation; and lounges and meeting rooms for more than 200 student organizations, including Student Government, sororities and fraternities.
You will also take advantage of other exciting NKU enhancements, like NKU’s 9,000-seat Bank of Kentucky Center, which was opened with a concert by Carrie Underwood! The BOK is home to NKU athletics. The excitment doesn't stop here. This fall will unveil a new scocer stadium, positioning the university to remain at the top of NCAA Division II play. Plans for the facility include a World Cup sytyle 120-yard by 80 yard competition field and seating for more than 1,000 spectators.
Winter 2011 will bring additional excitment as the new Center for Informatics, Griffin Hall will open. It will feature — the "genius bar" a sort of multidiscipline technology help desk, research flex space, and café. As well as a digitorium and the "CAVE," a virtual reality chamber. In addition to being home to some of the most advanced digital technology available, the Center for Informatics will be the first "green" building on NKU’s campus, having been designed for LEED Silver certification.
