transfer guide disclaimer This NKU Admissions Transfer Course Equivalent Database is provided as a service for students who want to know whether the courses they are taking, or plan to take, will transfer successfully to Northern Kentucky University. Public 2-year and 4-year Kentucky colleges, technical schools, private Kentucky colleges, and some Non-Kentucky colleges are currently included in the database.
The fact that a course appears in the list is no guarantee that the course will transfer in your individual case. You must submit official transcripts of coursework completes to the Office of Admissions and APPLY ONLINE before a final determination can be made. Once a student is accepted as a regular transfer, the Transfer Office will prepare an evaluation of credit and mail it, either with the acceptance packet or soon thereafter. Please note that equivalencies and requirements may change without notice. Courses at other institutions or at NKU that change in content from one year to the next will alter the accuracy of the equivalency tables. Please note: This Transfer Course Lookup does not guarantee degree applicability of transfer credit. The NKU college or program to which the applicant is seeking admissions will determine the amount of transfer credit applied to degree requirements. PLEASE BE AWARE THAT THIS LIST IS NOT COMPREHENSIVE. IT SHOULD ONLY BE USED AS A GUIDE. THIS LIST REFLECTS COURSES THAT HAVE PREVIOUSLY BEEN REVIEWED BY NKU FOR TRANSFER CREDIT. COURSES ARE ADDED AS TRANSFER STUDENTS ENROLL AT NKU AND THEIR WORK IS EVALUATED. Every effort has been made to provide accurate and current information; however, the right is reserved to amend or revise the contents at any time. Final decisions regarding the transfer of credit and application of credit to majors rest with the NKU Office of Admissions and/or the respective academic departmental offices. NKU is on a semester hour system. IF YOUR TRANSFER COURSEWORK IS FROM A SCHOOL WITH A QUARTER HOUR SYSTEM, YOUR TRANSFER EQUIVALENCIES WILL NOT BE ACCURATE IN MOST CASES. This transfer guide is subject to frequent revision. The guide is not designed to equate courses that require more than one course to equal an NKU course. For example, for a course that requires two courses for our one at NKU the guide will only identify the first course needed. This applies to semester hour systems as well as quarter hours systems, but with much less frequency. The information contained in the Transfer Equivalency Guide is being provided as an unofficial evaluation of how classes at your current and/or prior institutions are being transferred to Northern Kentucky University. A course that appears in the list is no guarantee that course transfer credit will be awarded. Students from quarter hour schools can also check the Transfer Equivalency Charts found at the Transfer Service Website. Click on your school's general education chart to see what courses apply to general education courses at NKU. These charts are more applicable than the transfer guide for a quarter hour school. Lists are provided that show if two or three courses are necessary to equal one NKU course. Only coursework from regionally accredited institutions will be accepted at NKU. Coursework listed in the Transfer Equivalency Guide from non-regionally accredited institutions will not be accepted at NKU. Check your applicable college catalog to verify institutional accreditation.
