NKU is giving me plenty of opportunities to succeed, both in and outside the classroom.

I'm in the honors program, and honors classes are my favorite classes because they're small and discussion-based.  It's a great way to hone my speech and critical thinking skills. You don't just soak the information in – you take it a step farther, listening to and then evaluating the material.  These skills will definitely be an asset after I graduate.

In one of my classes, my classmates and I worked with nonprofit organizations to create presentations on why our organizations should receive funding from Citigroup.  At the end of the semester, we presented our information to a board of Citigroup employees, and they actually made the decision to fund a few of our organizations.  This real-life practice taught me how to use persuasion techniques in the business world, which will help me in my pursuit of a law degree and eventually in a career as an attorney or politician.

I'm also really into sports on campus – people don't realize how many options there are and how much fun they can be.  I love going to basketball games, which will be so much more fun with the new Bank of Kentucky Center opening in the fall.  There are also club and intramural sports.  I played flag football and sand volleyball, and my volleyball team won the championship this year.

My education and experiences at NKU have definitely set me on the path to success. You can check out more of my experiences by visiting my blog.
