Sociology

Sociology is the study of social forces that affect human activities and behavior. It is also a perspective, a way of viewing society, and a set of techniques for seeking answers to questions about social behavior.

Our program offers a bachelor's degree in sociology with two focus areas -- Criminology and Society, Environment and Technology -- for students to complement their major.

Criminology combines the sociological and psychological aspects of social relations to study the causes of crime and deviant behavior. The other focus area provides a close examination of factors associated with such issues as global ecological problems and the role of technology in social and cultural change.
