Some pharmacy schools accept students whether or not they have completed a bachelor’s degree. But many pharmacy schools are converting to programs that require a bachelor’s degree for admission.

At NKU, both the Department of Biological Sciences and the Department of Chemistry have faculty who specialize in pre-pharmacy advising. Students who do not gain admission to pharmacy school can continue working with their advisor to complete a degree in biology or chemistry.

Even for pharmacy schools that do not require a bachelor’s degree for admission, advisors generally recommend that students complete their bachelor’s degree to better prepare them for the rigors of pharmacy school and to give them flexibility in their future careers.
