Professor Sara Drabik and her students traveled into urban neighborhoods to interview young women about their lives and find out what makes them healthy. Their documentary is now used by the United Way to help young women. "Sometimes," Drabik says, "the most powerful stories we can tell come not from a script but from our neighbors."

NKU student Austin Brown from Elizabethtown organized the area's first film festival exploring diversity issues associated with the GLBT community. "Equality is the root of a prosperous community," says Brown.

EMB student Reginald McDaniel landed an internship with the Multicultural Academic Opportunities Program, where he produced the film "From King 2 Obama: The Search for the Next Black Leader."
