Commitment to Climate Neutrality
What is the Commitment to Climate Neutrality?
The American College and University Presidents Climate Commitment is an initiative in pursuit of climate neutrality that was signed by presidents of colleges and universities across the country and around the world including Northern Kentucky University President, Dr. James Votruba.
The signatories (see complete list) believe colleges and universities must exercise leadership in their communities and throughout society by modeling ways to minimize global warming emissions, and by providing the knowledge and the educated graduates to achieve climate neutrality.
What does climate neutrality mean?
For purposes of the ACUPCC, climate neutrality is defined as having no net greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, to be achieved by minimizing GHG emissions as much as possible, and using carbon offsets or other measures to mitigate the remaining emissions. source: www.presidentsclimatecommitment.org/html/faq.php
