Major/Minor Fair set for Oct. 24 in Student Union Ballroom
Students are invited to attend the Major/Minor Fair on Thursday, Oct. 24 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Student Union Ballroom.
The annual event gives students an opportunity to explore majors, minors, general education requirements and careers by
speaking with faculty, staff and student representatives from more than 30 academic departments on campus.
Attendance at the Major/Minor Fair grows each year as our students are made more aware of it through their advisors and faculty.
While the event is open to all students, first-year students will be strongly encouraged to attend, and many from University 101
will attend as a class.
Since this is a new experience for many of our freshmen, faculty may provide students with assignments that encourage them
to research one or two possible majors, general education requirements and careers.
Major/Minor Fair is hosted by the Office of First-Year Programs, with support from Career Services and advisors from the
university's colleges. This event is a great tie-in with the Career Services’ UNV 101 Career Development Sessions, held
annually in conjunction with Major/Minor Fair.
