NKU to "Roll Out" Commuter Survey
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
March 19, 2013
On Monday, March 25, Northern Kentucky University “rolls out” its biennial Commuting Survey to 5,000 randomly selected but representative campus community members. The survey will be open for until Monday, April 1. Previous surveys were administered in 2009 and 2011.
To encourage participation in this confidential survey, all respondents will be eligible for a prize drawing. Students completing the survey will have their names placed in a drawing for a used 32GB iPad 1 and case. Faculty and staff responding to the survey will be eligible to win $50 on their All-Card as well as 2 tickets to an upcoming show or event at the Bank of Kentucky Center within the next calendar year.
All people opting to complete the survey in the Tech Lounge of the new Student Success Center on Monday, March 25 through Friday, March 29 from 11 am to 1 pm will receive a small “thank you” gift (while supplies last).
NKU is a member of the American College and University Presidents’ Climate Commitment and, as such, has committed to work towards climate neutrality (zero carbon footprint) in 2050. Having completed Greenhouse Gas inventories of university operations, NKU knows that university commuting comprises over 40% of NKU’s carbon footprint. The information from this and previous surveys will help NKU “steer” the community towards alternative transportation modes and other green initiatives that will reduce the university’s carbon emissions.
