Calderon appointed to Kentucky Board of Education

HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky.
- Leo Calderon, director of Latino student affairs at Northern Kentucky University, has been appointed to the Kentucky Board of Education by Gov. Steve Beshear.

The Kentucky Board of Education is made up of 12 members - seven representing the Supreme Court, four representing the state at large and a president who serves as a non-voting member. Calderon replaces Billy Harper, will serve as a state at large member until till the end of his term in April 2016.

Calderon is the first Latino to serve on the Kentucky Board of Education. He will seek to support the interests of Latinos throughout the commonwealth.
