2011-12 Holiday Schedule
Northern Kentucky University observes the following holidays by the closing of all departments and offices except where continuous service is essential:

Martin Luther King Day -- Monday, January 16, 2012

Memorial Day -- Monday, May 28, 2012

Independence Day -- Wednesday, July 4, 2012

Labor Day -- Monday, September 3, 2012

Election Day -- Tuesday, November 6, 2012

Thanksgiving -- Thursday, November 22 and Friday, November 23, 2012

Holiday Break* -- Monday, December 24, 2012 returning Wednesday, January 2, 2013
* Some offices will remain open, with limited staff, during the holiday break. Employees required to work during the holiday break shall either be credited with equivalent compensatory time off (on an hour for hour basis) or be paid an additional amount (at the straight-time rate) for the hours worked. The decision to allow compensatory time off or make additional payment is reserved to the department director or chair, giving consideration to staffing needs and budgetary constraints.
President's Day -- The university will be open and classes will be held on President's Day. Staff vacation accrual rates will be adjusted to add the additional day.
