Teotihuacán and the Pyramids
The entire group visited this historic site on Sunday, March 7. Several climbed to the top of the Pyramid of the Sun for a breathtaking view.

YMCA Community Development Centers
Half the group worked at the Naucalpan CDC, the other half at the Iztacalco CDC on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday. Tasks included helping in preschool and afterschool programs, meeting with Mexican students in the centers’ secretarial programs to discuss cultural similarities and differences, assisting in maintenance tasks like painting walls and chairs, and other similar activities. The group at Iztacalco was especially involved in preparations for that center’s Kermesse on Saturday.

Camp Camohmila in Tepoztlán
On Wednesday the group went to the picturesque village of Tepoztlán where beautiful YMCA Camp Camohmila is located. The morning was spent whitewashing tree trunks at the camp to protect them from termites. The afternoon was spent with becarios, students who live at the camp during the week while attending schools in the area. Before leaving, there was time to be tourists in the village.

Kermesse
The Iztacalco CDC held a fundraiser/community party on our last Saturday in Mexico. The half of the group that worked at that center spent much of the week preparing for it. All of us attended before heading to the airport to return home.
