Exam Format

In-class midterm

The in-class midterm will consist of six (6) term/character identifications worth 6 points each (total 36 points) and eight (8) quotation identifications worth 8 points each (total 64 points). Points are earned as follows:

Term identifications (6 points). Points will be given as follows: 2 points for a complete definition; 2 points for author/title of an example; 2 points for a complete explanation of how the example fits the term.

Character identifications (6 points). Points will be given as follows: 4 points for identification of the work (2 points for author, 2 points for title); 2 points for significance to the work.

Quotation identifications (8 points). Points will be given as follows: 1 point for author, 1 point for title, 3 points for context in the work, 3 points for significance of the quotation to the period.
