Northern Kentucky University offers study abroad programs in over 30 countries during the winter break, spring break, summer, and each semester and academic year.  Below you will find descriptions of the programs provided through NKU.   If you are interested in studying in a country that is not represented, let us know!

Academic Exchange Programs

Spend a semester or an academic year at one of NKU's 15 exchange universities.  An exchange offers cultural immersion, language improvement, and a unique study experience.  Our exchange universities each offer a wide variety of courses.

Cooperative Center for Study Abroad

CCSA is a higher education consortium of 24 colleges and universities, which is headquartered at NKU.  It offers winter break, summer, and internship programs in English-speaking regions of the world.

Kentucky Institute for International Studies

KIIS is a consortium of Kentucky universities that organizes and coordinates a group of summer and semester study abroad programs for college students.  Though all of their programs take place in non-English-speaking regions of the world, many offer courses taught in English.

NKU Spring Break & Short-term, Faculty-led Programs

The Office of International Programs coordinates a wide range of independently designed programs, many of which take place over spring break.  Past programs have included: Mexico City Alternative Spring Break Program, the Battlefield Trip to France, Costa Rica Biology & Natural History Trip, Sports Skills Education Trip to the Island of Dominica, and many others!
