Northern Kentucky University offers study
abroad programs in over 30 countries during the winter break, spring break,
summer, and each semester and academic year. Below you will find
descriptions of the programs provided through NKU. If you are
interested in studying in a country that is not represented, let us know!
Academic Exchange Programs
Spend a semester or an
academic year at one of NKU's 15 exchange universities. An exchange
offers cultural immersion, language improvement, and a unique
study experience. Our exchange universities each offer a
wide variety of courses.

Cooperative Center for Study Abroad
CCSA is a higher education consortium of 24 colleges and
universities, which is headquartered at NKU. It offers winter
break, summer, and internship programs in English-speaking regions of
the world.

Kentucky Institute for International Studies
KIIS is a consortium of
Kentucky universities that organizes and coordinates a group of summer
and semester study abroad programs for college students. Though
all of their programs take place in non-English-speaking regions of the
world, many offer courses taught in English.

NKU Spring Break & Short-term, Faculty-led Programs
The Office of International Programs coordinates a wide range of
independently designed programs, many of which take place over spring
break. Past programs have included:
Mexico City Alternative
Spring Break Program, the Battlefield Trip to France,
Costa Rica Biology & Natural History Trip,
Sports Skills Education Trip to the Island of Dominica, and many others!

C.O.S.T. Student Teaching Overseas
COST is a voluntary pact of mutual understanding among a group of
colleges and universities acting through their schools, colleges, or
departments of education to provide opportunities for quality student
teaching placement and supervision in a setting outside the United
States.
