Why should you care? Did you ever watch Six Feet Under and think, "Geez... Do these people ever smile?" Did you ever watch Arrested Development and think, "Geez... If this weren't a comedy these people would really be screwed up." Now imagine those two shows blended together with a dash of Dynasty for flavor and with Greg Berlanti doing the cooking. Fun!
Why should you worry? Much like Six Feet Under and Arrested Development, this show won't be for everyone. It is sometimes quiet, oftentimes has dry or indirect humor people might not quite get, and some of the characters are even unlikeable.
Bottom line? This show looks to play to upscale and young audiences, so while it may not be a huge ratings grabber overall it should make some money for the net. Most of all, it is going to generate buzz as critics salivate in ABC's direction again and message boards chatter away about the unique feel of the show. Who knows... with Private Practice as a lead-in, this sophisticated soapy dark comedy just might be able to hit. And have you seen that cast?!?!
