How can it be 1970's nearly over?	
We hope it's found you "in clover".
It's been a good year for us, we find, on reflection--
These are some of the things we've done.

To the sunny South in March we went--
The boys from school a few days were absent.
At a Tallehassee conference Cliff spent his days
While we in Appalachicola Forest lazed.
At night in our camper, we were quite cool
But daytimes were sunny, as a rule.

We succumbed to a zig zag machine in the Spring
To my mending it's added real zing;
It resides in our antique Singer cabinet
We'd not trade for a new one, you bet!

This year a new honor came Cliff's way
An "excellence in teaching" award came in May.
Using the computer in teaching was fun
And was one reason this prize was won.
The boys kept busy all summer through
With baseball, tennis and biking too.
Swimming lessons were taken without much zest--
Just going for fun was what they liked best.

A Cline family gathering was held here in July
With fun and silliness--the time did fly.

At the county fair, Cliff entered wood projects
For all four, first prize awards he collects!
From hereon I don't think he'll rest on his laurels--
As for me, I'll switch from baking to florals!
Gardening was enjoyed by me--and Andy
Our "spot" this year was really handy.
At the fair Andy also won a first prize
With a vegetable horse and man (cucumber size).

Melinda, once the pet, has become the pest
And the boys wishe she'd "ride off into the West".
A temporary wish, I'm happy to say
She's done much to keep us happy and gay.
In the diaper derby we entered our lass
And two ribbons to her did pass
For curly hair and the prettiest eyes--
As chubbiest, we didn't wish her the prize!

In August to Michigan we again went camping
That's lovely country in which to go tramping.

In September Cliff built a compost heap
The harvest of "recycling" we hope to reap.
This fall hatha yoga's to me been enlightening
But standing on your head?  Now that's frightening!

As Christmastime nears, let our acts all be
Toward peace on earth and let it start with me.
