As I said to Lyn one day, "It certainly was on interesting summer".  In one sense, it was a reminder of how fragile our bodies are, and in another, of how tough they really are to recover from some of what mine has been through.  Modern medicine, a great surgeon and strong support from family and friends have pulled me through so far.  Now I need to seriously consider my retirement from teaching, wrapping up some mathematics projects, pursuing some wood carving, and getting on with the rest of my life.  Each day is precious  Let's enjoy them all and see what we can do for others.  Certainly, a few tough times have made me more aware of some of the troubles others have to face each day, and how fortunate that I am and have been all of my life.
