Allen Ellis chairs panels at Popular Culture Association's annual international conference
Allen, as area chair for Libraries, Archives, and Popular Culture, chaired four panels at the 38th annual conference of the Popular Culture Association, in San Francisco, CA, March 19-12.

RefWorks
RefWorks is now available to the entire NKU community through a W. Frank Steely and the Office of Information Technology partnership! RefWorks is an online research management, writing and collaboration tool, designed to help researchers easily gather, manage, store and share all types of information, as well as generate citations and bibliographies. Creating a RefWorks account is easy and free. For more information, Ask a Librarian.
New Service for Faculty
If a faculty member finds a title in NKUIRE that he/she would like to have delivered to their office, all that person has to do is click on "Place a hold" in NKUIRE. Just supply the last eight digits of your All Card number and your last name. Access Services will find the item, check it out to you and deliver it to your office.

Dr. Arne Almquist Published in Kentucky Libraries
Dr. Arne Almquist's article "SAALCK (State-Assisted Academic Library Council of Kentucky): The Continuing Story, From 1997 to 2007," appears in the Winter 2008 (Vol. 72, No. 1) issue of Kentucky Libraries.
Rob Zai and Michael Providenti to Present at Educause
"Measuring Southeastern Academic Library Website Accessibility," will be presented at the 2008 EDUCAUSE Southeast Regional Conference in Jacksonville, Florida on June 3, 2008.

Mary Chesnut, Leslie Hammann, and Stephanie Henderson to present at CPE Conference 2008
"Raise the Bar through Collaboration: Prepare Students for Academic Research" will be presented at the 2008 Kentucky Conference on the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning in Lexington, KY on May 21, 2008.

Honors

Dr. Jennifer Smith appointed to the John Newbery Committee
The Newbery committee selects the most distinguished book for children published during the year. The award is sponsored by the Association for Library Service to Children, a division of the American Library Association. The committee is composed of 15 members from across the nation. The appointment is for two years.

eContent Production Area Survey
The W. Frank Steely Library is seeking volunteers to participate in a brief , anonymous survey regarding electronic production software (Photoshop, Dreamweaver, etc.) within the library. Data collected from the Survey will be used in a future Kentucky Department of Library and Archives grant application, but will not be published.
