Technology-Rich Classroom

The new classroom includes two instructional areas. One area allows for more traditional types of classroom interaction between faculty and students. The instructor's station is equipped with a computer, document camera and VCR that are all connected to a ceiling mounted projector.  A SmartPanel allows for easy switching between devices to be projected.  There is also a SmartBoard which allows for interactive lectures by the instructor.

The second instructional area, in the back of the room,  includes twelve computers (8 Dell and 4 Mac) large monitors. These islands allows for cooperative group problem solving activities. There is also a ceiling mounted projector connected to one of these computers for use by the instructor when whole class activities are conducted here.

There are two entrances from the hallway into BEP 204. The photos below give you some idea of the impression made as you entered this classroom from either the back-right or the back-left door.
The photos below (left) gives you an idea of the teacher's perspective of the classroom. The photo on the right gives another perspective of the computer islands in the back of the classroom.
