HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. - Northern Kentucky Universitys Kristin Koralewski has been named Great Lakes Valley Conference co-Player of the Week in volleyball. Koralewski, a senior outside hitter and a native of Muskego, Wis., totaled 56 kills, 59 digs and four service aces as NKU won three of four matches last weekend at the University of West Florida Comfort Inn-vitational. Koralewski also recorded three double-doubles, finished with a .286 hitting percentage in the four matches and was named most valuable player of the two-day tournament. Koralewskis best performance came during a four-game win over Mesa (Colo.) State College, when she hammered down 21 kills in 37 attempts with just two errors for a .514 hitting percentage. Koralewski now has 982 career kills at NKU and is looking to become just the 10th player in Norse volleyball history to reach 1,000 kills. Koralewski also played at Northern Michigan University prior to transferring to NKU in 2002, and she recorded 346 kills for the Wildcats in 2000. Koralewski shared this weeks GLVC honor with Lewis Universitys Theresa Nugent. NKU (3-1) will travel to the University of Findlay Tournament this weekend for three key regional matches. The Norse will open that event at 1 p.m. Friday against Northwood (Mich.) University. NKU will also meet Hillsdale (Mich.) College and Findlay on Saturday. |
